  Elements

Energynium: This metallic element exclusively exists on the planet Boron. It is one of the hardest and rarest substances in the universe. When forged into weapons or armor, it is able to channel the power and energy within the bearer to form energy weapons, shields or open wormholes. As armor, it is able to become one with the wearer as well as store absorbed energy. The forging process by its wearer changes the surface structure of the Energynium to graphene, further hardening this already indestructible substance.

Silver Energynium: With similar properties as Energynium but far rarer, Silver Energynium is used only to hold or retain, the few power sources in existence that have no discernable limits. This is done in an attempt to prevent a meltdown or the release of a cataclysmic amount of energy.

Blue Boronite: An element created by the Titan race, in an attempt to destroy the Boronians, which was tailored specifically for the High King in an attempt to corrupt him; overflowing with power it was designed for the High King to become all powerful by leeching off of the life force of his people. Since absolute power corrupts absolutely this would corrupt him resulting in a being that would be easily manipulated by the Titans.

  Technology

Electron Displacer: An electron abundant device invented by the Boronian race to compress atoms from one point in space to another which creates a wormhole. These devices can only be used by an electron deficient race due to the fact that they draw from the power absorbed by the user. This turns the user into its power source, (aka quantum tunneling).

Structural Coloration Generators: Found on the helmets of Boronian armor, the structural coloration generator acts as a type of camouflage by allowing the armor to mimic the light waves that surround the wearer. While incredibly high tech, if the back of the helmet gets damaged it could deactivate the camo; and, if there is no helmet, there is no structural coloration generator.

  Universal Boronian Abilities

Crack: This is when a Boronian unleashes all of the energy and radiation absorbed throughout their lifetime in one massive pulse. This was first done by former High King Anmort Lorian who used the ability to put an end to the Titan Wars. This move was used a number of other times to end World Ending Conflicts. But without a regulator (Starfall); the crack was not concentrated into a pulse that would skim the surface of a planet but rather be a pulse that would turn an entire planet to ash. This resulted in the Boronians becoming a peaceful race but still having one of the most powerful armies in the galaxy as to keep their allies safe. This singular move is the reason why no one attempts to invade. There have been three attempts to invade the planet, all three resulting in a Boronian prisoner offering to ‘Crack’ in order to redeem themselves. This resulted in the total annihilationof the invading armies on all three occasions. A Mass Crack is when a large number of Boronians Crack at the same time. This results in the destruction of not only the planet, but the entire solar system. According to history, this has only been done once, on Konner’sfirst off world mission.

Absorption: The Boronian people are electron deficient by nature; this results in every Boronian absorbing radiation (in all its forms) that is emitted from objects. All Boronians do this naturally but with training, which happens in every level of education, a Boronian can chose what to absorb and what not to. Boronians cannot feed off of each other and only a very rare select few have been able to absorb from other living creatures.

  Common Boronian Abilities

Heightened Senses: With concentration Boronians can hear up to ten miles with ease; in complete silence they can hear up to fifty. The average Boronian’s vision would be similar to a hawk’s vision, highly attuned and able to pick up the slightest movements given enough light. If concentrating smell can be increased to two times that of the average human while their sense of touch is magnified enough for a Boronian to feel and read a book through the ink being raised off the paper, with minimal effort.

Strength: The average Boronian has hatched weaved muscle fibers allowing them to be up to 200 times stronger than a professional level athlete. This also translates to being 200 times more durable.

Reaction time: Average human reaction time for visual stimulus is .25 second. The average Boronian’s reaction time is .10 second, while special Boronians (like Konner Lorian) have reactions times close to .01 seconds (almost instantaneous); humans are at .17 for audio. The average Boronian is at .09 and touch stimulus is .15. While a Boronian is .05, Boronians like Konner being near .01 and .005.

  Unique Boronian Abilities

Vision: Severe electron deficiency allows the Boronian who suffers from it to peer into the different light wavelengths. It also increases the other senses ten times that of a regular Boronian. This allows the Boronian to see heat signatures of other beings except for another Boronian. Due to electron deficiency, Boronians appear as a white outline of ‘negative’ heat. The downfall of looking into other light spectrums is that it causes serious migraines.

Inferno: A special Cryptea move where multiple teammates absorb the heat from objects around them and channel it into a wave of near sentient fire that consumes everything the wielder wishes.

  Periods of Time

Years are to refer to the age of an individual.

Cycles are to refer to how many times the suns circle the planet. 500 solar rotations are one cycle.

A Deci-cycle is the Boronian equivalent of one hundred years

  Planets

Maleon 4: A training moon for Boron military inhabited by humanoid animals that lack real intelligence but rather mimic what they see. Having been witness to how Boronians operate, they have a mimic of a tribal system with no real hierarchy.

Boron: The home of the Boronian people and part of a binary star system that has no degradation factor.

Sol 3: Also known as Earth.

  Chapter: 1

On the far side of the galaxy known as the Milky Way, there is a small world in a binary star system. While the Universe was still forming a unique mixture came together, a blue giant and brown dwarf star were draw in and settled into the orbit. The planet known as Boron by its inhabitants, the Boronians is a crystalline planet, rich in life and home of the humanoid race which dwells on the surface. They are acknowledged for their teleportation technology and desire for peace. The High King, known only as such, leads his people from the capitol city Caelum with the aid of five royal families who govern different provinces around the planet. Amongst all the forms of education known in the galaxy, none surpasses that of the Sco’lor Academy, named after the first high king and founder of the civilization, Scotor Lorian. This is where this story begins with the young boy of nine, the High Prince of Boron, Konner Lorian.

Konner sits in a dark room, reclined in a chair comprised of smooth silver metal. The darkness is only broken by a floating azure blue hologram of a little world far from Boron. Konner looks in fascination at the planet. Holding two hands up in front of him the hologram settles itself near his hands. With a slight twist of his wrists the planet rotates in the same direction; azure eyes ablaze with wonder at this far away world, Konner speaks in the commanding voice any nine year old wields.

“Computer release information about file 00135.”

With his command, the soft voice of a woman echoes throughout the empty chambers:

“File 00135 retrieved. Planet resides in the Sol system, known as Sol 3.

  Local name is Earth.”

A smile tugs itself into formation on the young ma
n’s lips. He throws his hands out and the hologram rapidly expands filling the entirety of the massive education chamber above him.

  “Typography.”

Konner’s voice is full of a sense of wonder at the planet so much different from his own.

“Sol 3 is vastly different from Boron. With most of the planet’s surface covered with water, the landmasses are rich in vegetation and covered with life. Along the equator, which runs across the middle of the planet, there are deserts and warmer climates. Temperatures gradually grow colder further away resulting in the poles at the top and bottom of the planet being covered in ice.”

Konner stands, holding one hand up to keep the hologram in place he pats the air with a single flick of his wrist. The hologram of the foreign planet is locked in a slow rotation in the air. Konner turns and walks over to a console that is raised from the ground. He has to stand on the tips of his toes to touch the glyphs on the consol. Fumbling blindly in the dark his small hand touches a glyph which glows an azure blue. It is in the shape of the Greek omega symbol but with a lightning bolt inside the arch that has a single dot on either side, the symbol of the High King of Boron.

Upon his contact with the glyph a second hologram gradually falls into place as water falls from a pitcher. Upon the completion of the hologram, Konner turns around and sees a planet, slightly smaller in size than Sol 3 but with a much different typography.

  “Computer, compare planets.”

Both the holograms begin to rotate at the same speed, both going the same direction. The computer begins to analyze and break down both the planets and their differences.

“Sol 3, AKA Earth is three thousand units larger in diameter than Boron. While rich in water content in the vast ‘Under Seas,’ Boron has few bodies of water on its surface, unlike Sol 3. Gravities pull is less than .01 deci-unites different between the two. This means Boron is far denser than Sol 3.”

Both holograms shrink in size as the solar systems of both planets are shown; Sol 3 is set in orbit around a single white star with nine planets settled in orbit. While Boron is a single planet that is orbited by two stars, one a blue giant, the other a brown dwarf.

"Unlike Sol 3, Boron lacks electrons. This has allowed for a unique phenomenon to occur, a binary star system where the suns circle the planet. It also made possible the development of the teleportation technology the Boronian people are known so well.”

A perplexed look settles on the boy’s face as his brow furrows causing his chocolate brown eyebrows to move closer together.

  “What does ‘lack electrons’ mean?”

The two solar systems shrink into non-existence as a large hologram of an atom takes its place. The electrons buzz around the room, one zooms across the floor and passes through Konner as it continues its route around the nucleus of the atom.

“Atoms are the building blocks of all matter. Its core is made of up neutrons and protons which make up the mass of the atom. Shown here is a natural atom. The electrons hold a negative electrical charge and the protons hold a positive charge. This helps hold the atom in place.”

As the computer finishes speaking, four of the six electrons stop circling the nucleus and collide into the walls shattering into fragments of light. Konner flinches at the explosions of light in the dark room and covers his eyes with his hands until they readjust to the dark. His attention is brought back to the holographic projection of the electron deficient atom. The computer continues.

“Each atom on this planet is electron deficient, holding only one or two electrons per nucleus. The atoms of this planet are in essence a vacuum. The blue giant and brown dwarf stars that provide Boron with night and day are held into place because of this fact. Each electron rich star lends electrons to our planet; this keeps the planet solid while allowing a non-decay binary system to occur.”

A sense of wonder overtakes young Konner’s face as he watches the hologram demonstrate atoms sharing electrons, while it explains to him the nature of his planet. A hiss catches his attention. Konner throws his left hand up with an open palm, closing his fist the atoms disappear instantly to be replaced with the holographic image of Boron. A door not far from where Konner stands slides open into the wall. Light pours into the dark room which causes small strips that circle the base and roof of the room to gradually incandesce. As the light reaches a normal level and Konner’s eyes adjust. He looks at the doorway. A young girl of the age of twelve stands in the doorway, wearing matching gowns, just like Konner’s, black silk with azure blue patterns throughout. The same dark brown hair falls past her shoulders onto her back. Her nearly glowing almond eyes examine Konner for a moment before an ornery grin forms on her face.

  “You weren’t doing your studies!”

Her voice is ripe with taunt at her little brother’s expense.

“Lei you aren’t supposed to be disturbing me!”

Konner huffs. His sister was always interrupting him when he was in the middle of something he found fascinating. It was as if she had radar that would go off if he was doing something other than what he was supposed to be doing. And rest assured she would show up without fail.

  “I’m telling mom and dad!”

Lei turns and runs from the Hall of Study. Konner quickly takes after her. Being older and a few inches taller Lei is able to get a head start on her little brother. Taking off down the hallways, she slides between students and teachers of all ages, all of whom are adorned in similar silken gowns comprised of different colors, based on their family line. With a very direct route to the Council Chambers, and their mother’s office Lei figured she could get there first.

Konner bursts through the doorway only to see his sister disappear behind the gradually thickening crowd moving from class to class. Being the first born son, Konner was destined to be a soldier of Boron, not a scholar. He had been trained from the moment he could stand how to fight and move in confined spaces with ease; Konner is able to almost dance his way through the mass of Boronians as they began filling the corridor. Being made to run miles on end enhanced his ability to breathe more efficiently. Being the smallest in his class, Konner was forced to work twice as hard and run twice as fast to keep up. Usually that strain was almost more than young Konner could handle, but not today. Today Konner isn’t competing with the future soldiers of his race; he just wants to catch his sister before she tells on him again.

Sliding between legs and leaping from benches, Konner blasts through the crowd as if they were not even in his way. It was times like these that he was glad he had to train so hard. A small ledge presents itself on the far side of the corridor where reconstruction had recently taken place to make the ceilings higher. Konner leaps with all of his might, soaring over the crowd of people he lands on the narrow ledge, almost toppling over. He is able to catch his balance then re-center himself. The second his footing is assured the young boy takes off running, slightly crouched, across the ledge. As the ledge rounds with the natural curvature of the corridor, the view of his mother’s Council Chambers comes into view. He glances down at the doorway’s entrance. He doesn’t see his sister. A rush of adrenalin fills him. He was finally going to beat his sister at her own game. Leaping from the ledge, Konner lands roughly on the ground in front of his mother’s door. He tucks and rolls but with the lack of room he collides with the wall which sends a dull shock throughout his body. This draws the attention of some of the passersby. One even moves in to help Konner up but the young prince pulls himself to his feet, slightly embarrassed. He shakes his head and waves off the help in a hurry wanting to get inside before his sister.

  “I’m fine.”

Konner quickly approaches the door and with a hiss it opens into the wall. Konner enters, looking around he does not see his mother, only Lei, sitting at their mother’s desk. Konner, catching his breath, points at his sister with an amused smile on his face.

  “HA! She’s not here.”

his words are teasing as he relishes his tiny victory. He may not
have won the race but there was no way Lei telling on him now would get him into trouble. Lei stands up and opens her mouth in rebuttal but is cut off by a low horn echoing through the hallways. Not willing to admit a loss to her baby brother she turns her nose up at him.
